The Role

The People Operations Lead will be responsible for managing and overseeing HR Operations across the Southeast Asian market, ensuring the effective and efficient execution of HR processes and systems. Based in Malaysia, the HR Operations Lead will also directly handle HR operations tasks within the country, ensuring compliance with local regulations and driving continuous improvement. This role will require a strong focus on employee experience, process improvement, and operational excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead HR Operations:


Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR function across Southeast Asia, ensuring that processes are executed effectively and efficiently.
Manage HR Operations Specialists in multiple countries, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure high performance and consistency in HR service delivery.
Coordinate and streamline HR activities across the region, ensuring alignment with company policies and regional regulations.

Payroll Management:


Oversee the payroll processes across Southeast Asia, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local tax laws and labor regulations.
Collaborate with finance and external payroll providers to ensure seamless payroll operations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

Benefits Administration:


Manage and administer employee benefits programs across the region, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
Review and optimize benefits offerings to ensure they remain competitive and aligned with market standards.

Employee Data Management:


Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of employee records and data in HR systems.
Oversee the management of employee data, including onboarding, off-boarding, transfers, and promotions, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.

Compliance:


Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and international labor laws and regulations across Southeast Asia.
Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure HR policies and practices adhere to legal requirements.
Partner with legal and compliance teams to address any HR-related legal issues.

Onboarding and Off-boarding:

Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition into the company.
Manage the off-boarding process, ensuring compliance with exit procedures and conducting exit interviews to gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Drive Process Improvement:


Identify opportunities for process improvement within HR operations, implementing best practices and driving efficiencies.
Lead HR projects aimed at improving operational workflows and enhancing the employee experience.

Manage HR Systems:


Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of HR systems and tools across the region.
Ensure HR systems are utilized effectively to support HR operations and provide accurate data for decision-making.

Champion Employee Experience:


Advocate for a positive employee experience by ensuring HR processes and interactions are employee-centric.
Work closely with the HR Business Partnering team to address employee concerns and enhance the overall employee journey.

Who we look for - the ideal profile:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR Operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience managing HR operations in a regional capacity, preferably in Southeast Asia.
Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits administration, employee data management, and HR systems.
Familiarity with local labor laws and regulations in Southeast Asia.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
