The role
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Regional People Operations Lead reporting directly to the Chief People Officer to lead our People Operations team across the Southeast Asia (SEA) region. In this pivotal role, you will align our people strategies with organizational goals, foster a high-performing team culture, and oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Your expertise will ensure compliance with local labor laws, enhance employee engagement, and drive continuous improvement in our HR practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a high-performing People Operations team across the SEA region, promoting a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and high performance.
- Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including pre-onboarding, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and internal organizational policies throughout the SEA region.
- Manage organization-wide payroll processes to guarantee accuracy and timeliness in compensation delivery.
- Lead strategic projects aimed at evolving the People Operations function in alignment with changing business needs.
- Collaborate with the People team to create and administer competitive compensation and benefits packages tailored to local market needs.
- Ensure the team serves as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, ensuring effective communication and support.
- Develop engaging content for internal communications that promotes transparency and builds trust within the organization.
- Leverage HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of people operations initiatives and inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to employee engagement, retention, and operational efficiency.
- Identify trends in employee feedback and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in HR practices.
- Partner with other departments, such as Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, to align people strategies with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within People Operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR management to inform organizational strategies.
Who we look for the ideal profile
- Candidates must have a minimum of 5-8 years of HR experience, ideally coming from a startup or a fast-growing, fast-paced environment in e-commerce
- Experienced in managing all aspects of HR, including but not limited to recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, rewards, compensation and benefits, HR systems and performance management
- Must be able to effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- Proactive, positive can-do attitude and detail-oriented
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices in Southeast Asia.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and foster a positive work culture.
- Proficiency in utilizing HR metrics for strategic decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Advanced expertise in MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. BambooHR) will be a plus
- Proven experience in setting up HR from scratch, developing and implementing HR policies and strategies is advantageous
