Overview
As a Sales Trainer, your role is to support business goals and build capabilities required by the commercial team to win with customers and shoppers, via training and development initiatives with objective to develop a highly competent, engaged and motivated commercial organization that delivers great results.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and execute sales training and development programs to build functional competencies of sales associates in assigned territory or channels.
- Track application of skills by sales associates and adjust training and development program as needed to ensure learning effectiveness that translate to quality sales execution.
- Conduct classroom trainings, online classes or execute On-Job-Training (OJT) to field sales associates in assigned territory/channels as per training needs.
- Track and monitor associates skills development over time, lead communication and alignment with STL/TSM/RSM on development needs of each team member, and the respective training and development plan.
- Conduct periodic and timely capability development needs analysis. Utilize insights to identify training gap and develop the required programs for sales associates in assigned territory or channels.
- Train sales associates on usage of sales tools and any other instrument to measure sales execution quality in the trade.
- Advocate for quality tracking and reporting of the same, and guide the sales associates to turn data insights into action plans to strengthen sales execution.
- Drive productivity, quality execution and operational discipline through performance tracking and calibration process.
- Train the sales associates on usage of company's various learning management system (LMS) platforms and monitor its effectiveness.
- Close collaboration with L&D partners for development of sales associates soft skills.
- Periodic check on SOP compliance within the sales organization and in the trade execution.
Requirements
- Ideally 5 years of years FMCG sales experience and at least 2 years of experience as trainer.
- Certified Coach, HRDC or equivalent training accreditation is preferred.
- Working knowledge of FMCG selling process and effective sales execution in the trade.
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, execute and review tasks promptly, anticipate and mitigate problems.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Virtual Training platforms.
- Good proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in additional languages, such as Mandarin, will be an added advantage.
- The base location is flexible, either in Kota Kinabalu or Kuching, supporting commercial training needs in the East Malaysia & Brunei region.

- Business Acumen: Develop sound understanding of the business and its key business drivers, derive insights from reports/observations and turn these insights into action plans that leads to effective sales execution and business results.
