Conduct comprehensive cost estimations for fire protection projects, including fire suppression systems, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and other fire protection equipment.
Analyze project specifications, technical drawings, and related documents to accurately determine the scope of work, materials required, and associated costs.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers, engineers, and procurement, to gather necessary information and ensure cost estimates align with project objectives.
Research and analyze market prices for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to obtain competitive pricing and optimize project cost efficiencies.
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, proposals, and bid submissions, adhering to project timelines and client specifications.
Review and validate subcontractor quotations, negotiate pricing when necessary, and assess subcontractor capabilities to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor project expenses, track actual costs against estimated budgets, and provide timely cost reports to management for accurate financial projections.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options without compromising quality and compliance with fire protection regulations.
Collaborate with the project management team to identify and resolve any cost-related issues, providing recommendations and solutions as needed.
Stay updated with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes related to fire protection systems and incorporate this knowledge into cost estimations.
Job Requirements
Language(s) required: Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
Proficient in cost estimation methodologies, pricing analysis, and budgeting techniques.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in using cost estimation software and tools.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and subcontractors.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with applicable industry standards, codes, and regulations related to fire protection systems.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines.
