Quantity Surveyor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning and Implementation
  
  a. Develop, implements and update project status information and monitoring systems to evaluate project budgets and administers their execution.
  
  b. Prepare preliminary cost estimates, bill of quantities and contract documentation between Cypark, clients, joint-venture partners, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
  
  c. Provide technical advice on contractual matters at all stages of proposals and projects.
  
  d. Prepare and issue request for quotation, evaluate quotations, negotiate and prepare recommendation to Head of Department/Board of Directors.
  
  e. To issue Letter of Award and Letter of Appointment.
  
  f. Develop profitability strategies and financial feasibility including implementation programmes and issue of claims for all projects.
  
  g. Manage the issue of all project claims to Clients and ensure all claims are being issued before due date.
  
  h. Develop an efficient, user-friendly database for projects, suppliers, contractors, clients, including pricing evaluation of products and services.
  
  i. Advise other departments on the building cost economics with regards to the designs produced by consultants.
  

• Reporting
  
  a. Prepare and present a monthly project performance report (proposals and claims submitted, claims projection, projects on-going) and forward monthly action plan.
  
  b. Immediately highlight to immediate superior any issues relation to contractual and financial issues on ad hoc basis.
  
  c. Prepare and co-ordinate a weekly progress meeting with immediate superiors.
  

• Office
  
  a. Effective communication of the Companys objectives to staff.
  
  b. Good corporate governance, comply with all legal and statutory requirements.
  
  c. Comply with all good business practice requirements.
  
  d. Provide active contribution to developing a QA system.
  
  e. Develop and manage database including Procurement Department until handing over.
  
• Qualification

a. Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Technology Management, Building, or a related field.

b. At least 3-5 years of experience.

c. Must be open to travel as required.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
