Position Summary:
To support the rapid growth and scale of Dexcom, we are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Manager 1 . As a successful cross-functional leader, the Program Manager 1 will be an essential player in the implementation of a multi-year enterprise scaling effort.
A successful candidate must demonstrate a proven track record in managing a range of projects with strong organizational leadership and influencing skills across many different business functions. This role requires a combination of project management skills, technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. You will be working closely cross- functional to support internal customers in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Facilities, EHS, Finance and Human Resources. This position reports to the Senior Program Manager, PMO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Planning:
Develop comprehensive program plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
Identify and manage program risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Independently tracks workstream initiatives, develops reporting dashboards, makes reports, and builds executive briefings.
Team Leadership:
Build and lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, production specialists, and quality assurance personnel.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, ensuring team members are aligned with project goals.
Resource Management:
Allocate resources efficiently to meet program objectives.
Monitor resource utilization and adjust as needed to optimize projects productivity.
Project Execution:
Ensure projects are executed according to the established plans and timelines.
Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
Oversees stakeholder adherence to program governance and makes recommendations for updates, changes, or improvements.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure the production of high-quality products.
Address any quality issues promptly and develop corrective actions.
Cost Control:
Manage program budgets and expenses to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement them where applicable.
Communication:
Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including senior management.
Prepare and deliver program status reports and presentations.
Coordinates, leads, and oversees strategic planning & gap analysis meetings with senior stakeholder groups to develop strategy models and program forecasts.
Act as an escalation path in event Ops team not meeting production schedules, NPI, quality, efficiency, or supply milestones.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the manufacturing process. Aggressively drive cost reduction thru process improvement and design optimizations
Drives innovation for system, process, and technology that support Ops Scale initiatives.
Implement best practices to optimize manufacturing operations.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all projects and NPIs activities adhere to relevant regulations and safety standards.
Develop and enforce safety protocols.
Experience and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering with 0-2 years of related and direct experience in technical and program management area.
Demonstrated project management skills, with proven track record of leading projects.
Result oriented, innovative, and willing to face challenging problems.
Experience leading cross-functional teams, with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Broad business and technical acumen and proven experience working effectively in a matrix organization and ability to collaborate effectively across geographies.
Ability to work with different cross-functional stakeholders to establish and ensure a reliable and productive working relationship.
Experience working with Project Transfers and NPIs will be an advantage.
Good written and oral communication skills including capacity to comfortably interface with senior leaders.
Exceptional skills in assessing, summarizing, and presenting business or operational priorities and decision-points for effective, timely and efficient management/executive decision-making.
Fluent user in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Worked within a Business PMO structure.
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Certification
Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
Life science or medical device industry experience
