Purpose of the RoleThe THG supervisor is a critical part of the production team, the key responsibility is the management of all production processes at 3 departments ie. transfer, harvest and finished goods. Ensuring production is carried out according to daily KPIs set by Management in terms of yield, quality control and delivery of finished goods.
In-charge for daily production activities at area 4 (transfer), 5 (harvest) and 6 (finished goods).
Inventory control and warehouse management of finished goods.
In-charge for pest control, end shift cleaning and deep cleaning of the workplace.
Work closely with the commercial department for the delivery of finished goods.
Coordinate with other departments on daily activities for smooth run of daily production activities.
Ensure area 4 (tray lines) are run efficiently to achieve the KPI set by Management in terms of quantity and quality.
Ensure area 5 (harvester, steam dryer and gravity screen) are run efficiently to achieve the KPI set by Management in terms of quantity and quality.
Ensure area 6 (steam cooker, oil press, milling machine, sieve, protein mixer, packaging line, and oil mixer) are run efficiently to achieve the KPI set by Management in terms of quantity and quality.
Prepare finished goods for shipment.
Update the WIP and finished goods stock daily.
Lead pest control activities to provide a good environment for the growth of larvae and to meet quality of finished goods.
Work closely with QHSE department to meet the quality of process and finished goods.
Ensure safety, health and environmental requirements are met.
Implement 5S according to the End Shift Cleaning Checklist and Deep Cleaning Checklist.
Work closely with the maintenance department on arrangement of maintenance work.
Supervise the safe use of vehicles (forklifts and reach trucks) and coordinate its maintenance with service providers.
Conduct training and coaching to subordinates to improve their knowledge and skills.
Work closely with QSHE on the implementation of GMP and HACCP standards.
Maintain and update production and finished goods database systems at all times.
Supports projects initiated by other departments for improvement.
Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you by the management from time to time either within or out of your current scope of employment must perform accordingly.
- Requirements & Person Specifications
Minimum requirement of relevant experience in manufacturing with more than 5 years of direct experience in Production or Agriculture. Hands-on experience is preferred.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English and Malay both orally and in writing.
A good level of Ms Office and the ability to create datasheets and other document types.
Demonstrate application of knowledge and understanding of key principles in:
- Workflow & efficiencies, plant layout.
Production execution, measurement & improvement.
- Raw material handling and storage.
Experience with food or feed production & handling.
Specific experience in feedstock management would be preferred.
Knowledge and experience of HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
Strong understanding of EHS standards and regulations.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision, good self-discipline.
Able to lead a team of section leaders and workers through leadership by example.
