SUMMARY- This position entails providing strong management leadership to deliver a set of aggressive results in the Procurement/ Sourcing function. The individual is expected to enable price leadership in each commodity, whilst ensuring quality is upheld. Meanwhile, this position requires a capable leader with in- depth technical knowledge in the Procurement/ Sourcing field
Develop supplier base by actively sourcing, identifying and evaluating new sources to achieve assurance of supply and best cost for new programs.
- Support new product introductions (NPIs) through prototyping materials coordination, tooling fabrications, PCA support and packaging engineering.
Continuously drive lowest materials cost through value engineering, reverse engineering, new design or processes, alternative substitution, resourcing, or negotiations- Maintain NPI product cost tracking from prototype to production phases.
Ensure proper ERP system setup in terms of suppliers information and part information.
- Implement suppliers contracts for critical vendors, ensure non-disclosure agreements with all suppliers.
Ensure regulatory compliance e.g. Reach, RoHS and Conflict Minerals for all parts and sub-assemblies.- Implement suppliers quality management plans, such as supplier outgoing quality audits and SPC plans.
Conduct suppliers survey and audits with QA and Engineering team.
- Lead and determine the Standard Cost for direct materials every quarterly for all products.
Develop deep-bench methods to approximate best part cost thru deploying Activity Based Costing
Possess at least a Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain. Candidates with a Diploma will be considered provided the candidate has an equivalent number of relevant experiences years.- Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement/ Supply Chain or Engineering field. Candidate with contract manufacturing experience will be added advantage.
Ability to read and understand technical documentation, has good costing and spreadsheet skills.
- Good knowledge base of global suppliers in different commodity categories. Ability to effectively manage complex supply chain structure work in a fast paced, global environment.
Good understanding of supply chain matrices such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, cost reduction, incoterms, outgoing quality, etc.- Knowledge in suppliers contracts such as Manufacturing Service Agreement (MSA)
Knowledge of ERP system e.g. IFS, SAP, Microsoft AX etc.
- Proven leadership skills in building and managing cross- functional supply chain teams.
Able to communicate effectively in both oral and written.- Excellent analytical, reasoning and negotiation skills are required.
