Vacancy: Head of Pricing, Actuarial (Underwriting Department)
Based in Kuala Lumpur's Office, the Pricing Actuary will report to the Chief Underwriting Officer and to manage the Pricing Team.
Responsibilities
- Managing experience studies and assisting in deriving pricing assumptions for reinsurance business.
- Assisting in planning and managing team workflows in line with priorities.
- Supporting business units in handling reinsurance arrangements and queries including reinsurance inward and outward business on pricing.
- To work with Underwriting & Claims Department to perform competitor analysis on similar risks and services.
- To scope out opportunities based on market trends and industry conditions.
- To identify ideal pricing structures
- To draft strategic pricing plans and processes to improve existing projects.
- To communicate findings effectively to relevant underwriters
- To work with the marketing team to define pricing structure for each reinsurance program.
- To address issues and concerns raised by team members relating to pricing suggestions.
Qualifications
- Fellow/Associate Actuarial qualification with minimum 5 years experience working in general/reinsurance insurance industry at Managerial level.
- Strong knowledge about the industry including competitors and market trends.
- Keen eye for identifying opportunity.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, detail conscious and analysis skill.
