Pharmacy operations, policies and procedures Assists pharmacy manager to supervise the day-to-day running of Pharmacy Department.
Maintains good standards of medication preparation & dispensing and other pharmacy practices within the hospital, in accordance with professional practice requirements, legislations and hospital policies & standard operating procedures.
Assists Pharmacy Manager in the preparation, documentation and implementation of any quality program.
Iinterprets, transcribes, reviews for drug appropriateness before charging, prepare and dispense drug prescriptions for patients and maintain appropriate records.
Maintains records on all narcotics and controlled medications such as psychotropic substances and dangerous drugs. Their usage should be reviewed periodically and discrepancies are resolved.
Assists the Pharmacy Manager to run the day-to-day operation in preparing and safe handling of cytotoxic drugs including the management of cytotoxic waste disposal and spillage of cytotoxic drug, if applicable.
Assists the Pharmacy Manager in implementing of pharmaceutical and GPP/GMP Standards in all relevant practices within the hospital.
Enrolls suitable patients in Patient Assistance Program and compassionate access, including giving appropriate patient counselling and ensure medication are redeemed in a timely manner.
Enforces an effective drug inventory control, including proper storage of medications within the Hospital. This includes assisting in purchasing of drug, maintaining relevant documentations and ensuring adequate supply levels at all units in the hospital.
