About the team:
Grab's legal team operates regionally to support the Grab Group's various product verticals. Our dedicated team handles a wide array of legal matters to ensure the smooth operation and protection of our business.
Get to know the role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing legal team. Reporting to the Head of IP, Tech-Legal, and Legal Operations, you will work closely with the broader legal team and business stakeholders at all levels of Grab.
The Critical Tasks You will Perform:
You will manage and oversee Grab Group's intellectual property portfolio, focusing on trademarks and copyrights.
You will handle intellectual property enforcement matters, including domain names and infringement cases.
You will draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to intellectual property.
You will provide legal advice and guidance on intellectual property matters to various departments within Grab Group.
You will conduct intellectual property audits and risk assessments, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies.
You will develop and implement intellectual property policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
You will provide training and education to Grab Groups employees on intellectual property rights and responsibilities.
You will perform multijurisdictional research and monitor developments in intellectual property laws and regulations.
You will manage and maintain records and documentation related to intellectual property assets, including registration certificates, agreements, correspondence, and tracking deadlines and renewals.
You will attend to budgeting and monitoring of IP expenses.
Qualifications
What Skills You will Need
Experience: At least 2 years of experience handling IP-related matters within a law firm or in-house legal team, with exposure to IP in the advertising or technology industry.
Trademark Management: Proficient in managing trademark filings, including conducting clearance searches and preparing submissions and other documentation until trademark registration and renewal stages.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is critical for managing legal documentation and ensuring compliance.
Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analyze complex IP issues.
Organization: Good organizational skills to manage and track multiple IP assets and enforcement actions.
Legal Knowledge: Understanding of intellectual property laws and regulations, demonstrated through either a diploma or degree with intellectual property modules or equivalent coursework.
