Qualifications
Degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus. Core responsibilities
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for producing both proactive and reactive solutions to ensure the stability of IT services. You will have full engagement from design through to implementation and support in on-prem environments and will help set future direction as we innovate and elevate our IT services.
Day to day you will be working with the Operations and Monitoring teams to find patterns of capacity issues, outages, and alerts, and creating solutions to resolve these automatically.
You will focus on how innovative automation technology can help drive IT and the business forward. Collaborate with the other teams to analyze and determine which manual tasks need to be automated.
Utilize your deep understanding of automation principles and technologies to create productiongrade solutions.
Translate project requirements and build appropriate solutions in automation leveraging tools such as Amelia, RunDeck, AutomationEdge, or similar.
Use your knowledge of Batch scripting and PowerShell to create effective automation workflows.
Knowledge of all stages of software life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation.
Create and maintain automated test scenarios following object-oriented test design principles.
Ensure thorough documentation of automation solutions, adhering to established standards and governance practices.
Effectively manage and prioritize workload, ensuring timely delivery of automation projects.
Plan and estimate project durations accurately, accounting for dependencies and resource availability. APAC Automation Lead for Global Delivery Tooling Services Other responsibilities
Mentors other team members to develop increased and relevant technical skills and practices.
Participates in backlog discussions, amigos meetings, and estimation sessions.
Produce clear and comprehensive written documentation for automation solutions, including user guides and technical specifications.
Any other assignments as instructed by superior as and when required. Skill set & Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands on experience with various monitoring and automation tools.
Hands-on experience on Automation Tools such as Amelia, RunDeck, AutomationEdge, or similar (preference to recent experience with Amelia, RunDeck, AutomationEdge).
Experience with various client-side scripting technologies such as AJAX, ASP.NET AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, Java/C# and VBScript or Perl etc. (Good to have).
Minimum 5 years experience of server-side scripting languages such as PowerShell and Batch Script.
Minimum 3 years experience with distributed systems, web application technologies, web services, and multi-layered architectures.
Minimum 3 years experience with multiple relational database systems.
Minimum 3 years experience in Virtualization technologies, UNIX/Linux, Windows, Databases, Applications, Middleware & Web Servers
Familiarity with firewalls, load balancers and SAN technology.
Data analysis skills using tools like Excel, R, Python etc.
Minimum 3 years Programming experience in languages like JavaScript, PHP, Java, ASP.Net, Angular
Minimum 3 years SOAP and REST API Integration Experience.
Proven track record of creating production grade solutions.
Advanced knowledge of test automation tools, frameworks, design approaches, and effective implementation techniques
Deep understanding of automation principles and technologies.
ITIL V3 and above process understanding. Helpful friendly and approachable, able to communicate to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Monitoring Tools Experience like BMC TrueSight
Understanding and knowledge of ITSM tools like ServiceNow (hands on experience a plus
