Job Description
Who You'll Work With
As a NPI Materials Manager, you will engage with Engineering, Platform Design, CM Partners, CA personnel and other business functions. You will get an opportunity to work with some of the smartest engineering and technical leaders in the industry.
What you'll do
- Support programs from prototype phase through start of production until transition to production sustaining team. Own the transition plan for the program / parts to be handed over to on-going production
- Work with the CM NPI project buyers, material planner, production control, planning manager, in support of providing clear to build and planning scenarios
- In collaboration with the NPI Program Manager (PM) team, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the continuity of supply to meet on-time execution of the multiple phase builds into production
- Effectively communicate material requirements and program timelines/milestones to external suppliers
- Drive opportunities to improve data quality, data integrity, and data governance practices across the organization
- Work with external suppliers to establish the appropriate delivery schedules for individual components, specifying quantity and frequency targeting on-time delivery; coordinate with Supply Chain team and Logistics as needed.
- Identify supply chain risks and mitigation steps to ensure material readiness
- Communicate status and risks regularly. Escalate in a timely manner
- Propose and execute solutions to eliminate shortages impacting build schedules
- Own the leadership communication on the program to all key stakeholders: program management, engineering & supply chain
- Ensure BOM accuracy by working with engineering
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering to support material changes resulting from
- Engineering Change Order (ECO's), plan for new material and minimize obsolescence of old material
- Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing, program management, product development teams, design engineers, supply chain, production control and logistics teams
- Look for opportunities to identify and drive improvement projects/ processes
- Present executive summary of material metrics and quarterly business reviews (QBR)
Qualifications
- 2-4+ years of experience in new production introduction materials management in a technical sector
- 2+ years of experience in commercial contract management
- 2+ working with cross-functional team (PM, Engineering, Planning, Finance)
- 5+ years of experience in supplier performance management in supply chain with direct ownership
- 5+ years experience of end-to-end supply chain management with emphasis on flexibility and scalability
- B.S. or M.S. in related technologies
