JOB DESCRIPTION

Competencies and Skills

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology (Computer/Telecommunication/Network) or equivalent
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant networking experience in routing, switching, SD-WAN, IP MPLS, VPN, etc.
• CCNA or CCNP certification will be an advantage
• Have strong leadership qualities and able to give technical direction.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with all levels of personnel from end users to senior management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and work collaboratively with other senior leaders in the organization.
• Good analytical, logical and problem solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Infra Demand Management

1) Receive infrastructure resource upgrade requirements from Business, app and solution architect to estimate hardware (example: Network tech refresh) resource cost.

2) Understand the architecture including gap analysis and requirement gathering.

Perform Platform / Infrastructure Solutioning

3) Provide some technical expertise advice all aspects of the solution designing, including infrastructure and product related to network (e.g. scalability, security, availability, integration).

4) Work with solution architect team and translate application hardware or resources requirements into infrastructure High Level Estimate (HLE) for budgetary costing purpose.

5) Work with the vendor team to develop High Level Solutions if required. Project Implementation

6) Network Engineer aids in design, build, and manage the network infrastructure of information technology (IT) systems. This includes (but not limited to) installing hardware (physical & virtual), configuring switches, routing changes, etc in both LAN and WAN.

7) The Network Engineer is expected to be proficient in all aspects of ITIL (i.e. Incident Management, Service Request Management, Change Request Management, Problem Management, Disaster Response, etc.).

8) Designing network architecture: Review internal business requirements for network systems and collaborate with other engineers and developers to decide on an overall technical approach.

9) To direct the installation of both the software and hardware components of network along with other portions of security or load balancing infrastructure.10) During the project engagement, the Network Engineer must constantly monitor network devices for performance problems and provide troubleshooting support for users. When issues arise, they must analyse the root cause and resolve them promptly or else escalate them to another department while updating users all throughout.

11) To also create diagrams of network topologies and record details of troubleshooting processes

12) Analyse and resolve network security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion (Example: VAPT findings)

13) Conduct user activity audits where required.

14) Develop, implement, maintain and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for network and system administration that has been set

15) Able to perform implementations or provide necessary details to handover to implementation team as required

16) Provides Level 3 support and direction for production related issues. Considered a SME for network related devices

17) Responsible for documentation of end to end network design

18) Works with external vendors for chronic issues, bugs, feature enhancements

19) Participates and provide guidance for new feature enhancements, code and certification

20) Helps with lifecycle management of network related products (Example: EOL/EOS network

devices that require to tech refresh)

Other responsibilities

21) Participate in Periodic/Ad-Hoc Individual Alignment/Performance Sessions with team lead to discuss the following: -

a. Individual KPI Performance

b. Issues/concerns

c. Other matters

Any other responsibilities/tasks as assigned by the management from time to time

Job Specification

• Experience assessing large-company campus, branch office, WAN, and data centre business needs, designing and documenting solutions to meet these needs, and driving external vendors where applicable to deliver against product and software roadmaps
• Strong functional knowledge of TCP/IP required.
• Strongly versed across a variety of hardware and software manufacturers, and a high degree of comfort and experience in mixed vendor environments
• Strong hands-on experience with designing, configuring and troubleshooting network related devices.
• Fluent with state of art network technology and cloud infrastructure
• Flexible approach to working hours after hours support during project implementation
• Self-starter and highly motivated individual who demonstrates the ability to exercise sound judgment, prioritize and effectively meet deadlines while working on multiple assignments simultaneously
