As a Motorcycle Technician/Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motorcycles to ensure they are in safe and optimal working condition. You will perform a wide range of services, from routine maintenance to complex repairs, while providing excellent customer service.
- Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire changes, brake servicing, and chain adjustments.- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in motorcycles, using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Repair and replace damaged or worn-out parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension components.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
Use diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify and diagnose issues with motorcycle systems, including engines, electrical systems, and fuel systems.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems and develop effective repair strategies.
Perform test rides and other assessments to verify repairs and ensure the motorcycle is in proper working order.
Communicate with customers to understand their concerns and explain the necessary repairs or maintenance work.- Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and timeframes.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering quality work and ensuring motorcycles are returned to customers in excellent condition.
- Parts and Inventory Management:
Identify the parts and materials needed for repairs and communicate these requirements to the Parts Manager.
- Ensure the timely ordering and availability of parts for ongoing repairs.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and handling of tools and parts.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.- Ensure all repairs and services are performed in compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Stay up-to-date with the latest technical information, service bulletins, and recalls related to motorcycles.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Complete detailed and accurate service reports, including the work performed, parts used, and any other relevant information.
- Maintain records of all repairs and services for future reference and warranty purposes.
Assist in keeping the service area clean, organized, and compliant with all regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification in motorcycle repair and maintenance is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a motorcycle technician or mechanic.
- Proven experience with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of motorcycle brands and models.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, equipment, and software.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals, diagrams, and technical bulletins.- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment.
- Manual dexterity and coordination.
Ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling, for extended periods.
