As Merchandiser Manager of Konvy Malaysia you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and procuring a wide range of products for Konvy Stores in Malaysia mainly Health and Beauty category. Your primary focus will be identifying popular products, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring a diverse, high-quality product assortment that meets customer demands. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, such as operations, and marketing, to drive sales growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall profitability of the stores.
Responsibilities:
Merchandising Strategy:
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to drive sales, profitability, and brand positioning for imported fashion products.
- Collaborate with the design and product development teams to identify and select merchandise that aligns with market trends and customer preferences.
- Analyze sales data, market research, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and make informed merchandising decisions.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of merchandise and negotiate favorable terms.
- Source new suppliers and conduct supplier evaluations to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with company standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and maintain open lines of communication to ensure smooth operations.
Inventory Planning and Management:
- Develop inventory plans and forecasts based on sales projections, historical data, and market trends.
- Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure accurate and timely product allocations, stock replenishment, and inventory optimization.
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze sell-through rates, and implement strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
Pricing and Margin Optimization:
- Establish pricing strategies and guidelines, taking into account product costs, market positioning, and competitive landscape.
- Monitor pricing and margin performance, conduct regular analysis, and make pricing adjustments as needed to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and sales, to ensure accurate pricing calculations and margin targets.
Team Management and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of merchandisers, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
- Set clear performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and implement development plans to enhance individual and team performance.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Merchandiser in the health and beauty industry, preferably with import/export experience.
- Require 4-5 years experience as merchandiser/buyer
- In-depth knowledge of merchandising principles, supply chain management, and health and beauty market trends.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the ability to interpret sales data and market research.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Proficiency in using merchandising and inventory management systems and software.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and drive results.
