Mechanical Technician

Job Description

• Dismantling, servicing, and reassembling the mechanical plant as directed by the Mechanical Supervisor. These include Gas Turbines, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Steam Turbines, Fuel Systems, Firefighting systems, Water Treatment systems, and all other auxiliary mechanical plants within the Facility.
• Operate as part of the Mechanical team across a wide range of duties.
• Observe all procedures and safety rules and be responsible for the safety of their actions and those working under their control.
• Collect and utilize spares and tools as required.
• Operate independently to trace, isolate, and correct faults in the systems under investigation.
• Attend to Preventative Maintenance tasks as the CMMS initiates them.
• Attend to breakdowns and emergency maintenance as directed by the Mechanical Supervisor
• Responding to callouts when requested.
• Reporting on work carried out.
• Ensuring that work is carried out according to the appropriate procedures and that the best international Quality standards are applied to all activities.
• Supporting the removal of non-conformances in practice or processes.
• Commitment to the principle and need for continuous improvement.
• Systems thinking and applying process approach, with emphasis on the needs of the customer, both internal and external.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/ Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of working experience in the related field.
• Able to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
• Able to use test and diagnostic tools for investigations
