Overview:
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in rotating equipment such as pumps, turbines, and piping systems for water and energy projects. Based in Seri Kembangan, Malaysia. The role involves performing engineering design and providing technical support for projects across Southeast Asia (SEA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Design:
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, datasheets, and technical reports for rotating equipment and piping systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client requirements.
- Develop detailed mechanical designs for rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors) and associated piping systems for water treatment, power generation, and other energy-related projects.
- Develop detailed engineering designs using CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Conduct design calculations, simulations, and analysis using tools like ANSYS, FEA software, and other relevant engineering tools.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards (ASME, API, ISO) and client specifications.
2. Equipment Selection:
- Evaluate and select appropriate mechanical components and systems based on project specifications, performance criteria, and cost-efficiency.
3. Vendor Coordination:
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors for equipment procurement, review technical bids, and ensure that equipment meets design and project specifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional certification or a Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on rotating equipment (pumps, turbines) and piping systems in water, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, equipment sizing, material selection, and fluid dynamics.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as API, ISO, ASME, and local regulations in SEA countries.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in water treatment, energy, or renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of rotating equipment.
