Responsible for application development and deliver on the Mobile applications assigned through agile resource management and digital platform technology implementation to support business objectives. Expected to function effectively in a high performance team for application delivery and champion Mobile application technology innovations.
JOB SCOPE: (role purpose)
Delivery & Reporting
Responsible for clearly understanding the project objectives and ensuring that these are the foundations for delivery.
Leading the effective end to end delivery of the projects to agreed time, budget, scope and quality.
Managing, coordinating and reporting on performance of the projects to create clear visibility and transparency of delivery.
Ensuring the appropriate governance of the projects to ensure the right results are delivered through the agreed mechanisms and thresholds (including alignment to regional standards).
Handling and responsible for project documentation and invoices where necessary.
Single Point of Contact
Single point of contact for your assigned projects working closely with all the all Project Managers, Transformation Business Partners and relevant business partners (e.g. Distribution, Operations / CE and Strategic Functions) as appropriate to take ownership for the end to end delivery.
Benefit Realisation / Change Management & Innovation
Promoting a culture and understanding of project benefits, change management and innovation across your assigned projects and in all engagements with Business Partners.
Ensuring the individual project benefits are realized and that they are delivered on time and to budget.
Interdependency Resolution
Taking proactive steps in interdependency management clearly demonstrating a can do approach.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (key accountabilities)
- Design / Document / Implement / Test / Deploy systems & solutions to meet the business needs 2. Analyze business requirements to perform feasibility studies / gap analysis / functional / technical design for existing and new systems
- Examine existing systems design and processes to improve effectiveness & efficiency
- Research and recommend technologies and solution design to fulfil business requirement
- Work closely with Project Manager, Business Analyst and Technical Delivery teams to ensure quality of deliveries
- Lead and guide the development team on system development / implementation lifecycle
- Perform and coordinate SIT and UAT activities
- Responsible for production deployment and relevant change management processes
- Work closely with other organizational units and external parties in systems implementation
- Ensure complete knowledge transfer from external solution providers to provide effective support on systems after go-live
- Responsible for end-to-end design for existing and new systems
- Responsible for functional / technical / administration / operation documentations of supported systems
- Active involvement in production support to ensure systems availability and stability
JOB SPECIFICATION (requirements)
- At least 7 years of experience in Java EE enterprise application development
- Understanding of insurance business domain and relevant systems (an added advantage)
- Understanding of mobile application iOS and Android (an added advantage)
- Strong knowledge in multiple technologies (Web/App Server, RDBMS, SQL, Integration, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and highly proficient in oral & written communication (English)
- Highly proactive and self-motivated individual with proven leadership exposure
- Independent and highly analytical individual with good problem solving skills
- Willing to accept significant responsibility and accountability
- Able to cope with challenging delivery timeline and pressure at work
