Overview:
The Government Relations Manager is responsible for managing the ERFSB's interactions with government entities, advocating for the ERFSB's interests and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This role involves developing and implementing relations strategies, monitoring legislative activities and building relationship with government officials.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to promote and protect ERFSB's interests with government entities.
Build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies and other relevant public sector bodies
from federal and Johor state government.
Monitor legislation and regulatory developments that might impact the company and advise leadership on potential
implications.
Represent the company in meeting with government officials and other external stakeholders.
Coordinate ERFSB's response to government inquiries.
Prepare reports and briefings on governmental matters for internal stakeholders.
Serve as the custodian of the Legal Register to ensure ERFSB's compliance with federal government and Johor state
laws and regulations.
Provide support to internal departments for plant's operational matters related to government relations including
permit and license applications and renewals.
Advocate for the company's positions on policy and regulatory issues.
Collaborate with other departments to align government relations strategies with ERFSB's goals.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Business Administration / Economics / Public Administration or a related field.
Minimum of 10 - 15 years of working experience with recent 5 years experience in Government Relations, Public Affairs or a similar role.
Deep understanding and exposure to government/corporate relations and stakeholder management.
Experience in managing and engaging authorities on license and permit approvals and plant technical-related matters.
Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and other stakeholders.
Experience in policy analysis and public affairs.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strategic thinking and ability to efficiently collect and disseminate critical information.
Experience working in oil and gas sector is an added advantage.
