Job Purpose
- Responsible for ensuring that the monthly closing of Great Eastern Capital Sdn Bhd (GEC) accounts and private collective investment scheme (CIS) funds and Company's regulatory/statistical reports to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), financial reports & Risk Based Capital (RBC) computation are accurately prepared within the prescribed timelines.
The Job
- Review the monthly BNM ICSS return, Month On Month (MoM) variance report, statistical reports e.g. Statement of Investment Position (IIP), International Trade In Services (ITS) and any other regulatory reports.
- Review the Company's Risk Based Capital (RBC) and Insurance Capital Standard (ICS) computation.
- Manage and coordinate the Company's Related Party Transactions (RPT) reporting and review all regulatory and Group reporting in relation to RPT.
- Review the monthly and quarterly consolidation pack for OCBC reporting and half-yearly GEH reporting pack by Group finance s prescribed deadline..
- Prepare and review the Company's IFRS 17 Annual Financial Statement and Consolidated Financial Statement for GEC.
- Prepare the BNM MFRS 17 trial run submission in accordance with the guideline prescribed by BNM
- Review Financial Reporting Standards (MFRSs) that are relevant to the Company's functions and study its impact on the Company's Financial Statement.
- Review the monthly closings of GEC accounts and (CIS) funds.
- Manage and coordinate the Negative Assurance Sign Off (NASO) reporting and review the NASO report to Group Finance.
- Review the daily Investment Linked (IL) cash flows and IL NAV from custodian bank.
- Perform annual review/update on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Review and update Finance policies i.e. Related Party Transactions policy, Dividend policy and any other related policies.
- Review Financial Reporting Standards (MFRSs) that are relevant to the Company's functions and its impact on the Company's financial statement.
- Assist Head of Department (HOD) and Assistant Vice President (AVP) in any other duties as and when required.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices
Our Requirements
- Tertiary qualification with recognised local or oversea university or full qualification in Professional Accountancy (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, MICPA, ICAEW).
- At least 5-6 years working experiences in financial institution preferably in life insurance or established audit firm.
- Proficient in the MFRSs and its applications to financial statement.
- Familiar with a computerised accounting environment and be conversant with personal computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Key knowledge: Financial Systems, Oracle Financial System (OFIN), TM1 system, BNM ICSS, FPMS, Life Asia and MBS 400, BNM's guidelines , Financial Reporting Standards
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
