Manage and oversee the corporate finance tax function, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations
Prepare and review tax returns, financial statements, and documentation to ensure accurate reporting of tax obligations
Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize the company's tax position while minimizing risks
Conduct tax research and analysis to stay current on tax legislation and emerging tax issues affecting the company
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and accounting, to ensure compliance and integration of tax considerations in business decisions
Assist in managing tax audits and responding to inquiries from tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and support
Monitor and report on the company's tax-related financial performance and provide recommendations for improvements
Develop and deliver training on tax issues and best practices to internal teams to enhance tax awareness and compliance
Maintain relationships with external tax advisors and agencies to ensure alignment on tax strategies and compliance efforts
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional tax certification (e.g., CPA, CTA) is preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate finance and tax management, preferably within a corporate environment
Strong knowledge of tax regulations and laws applicable to corporate finance, including international tax considerations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
Ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly and effectively to non-tax stakeholders
Experience managing tax compliance processes and working with external tax advisors
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
Proficient in financial modeling and analysis software; experience with tax software is a plus
Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in additional languages is an asset
