Job Summary
The Contract and Commercial Manager (M&E) role is pivotal in overseeing the contractual and commercial aspects of a project's Mechanical and electrical system-related works. The candidate should possess extensive expertise in contract management, project cost control, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions across all stages of the project.
- Manage contractual risks by identifying issues early and implementing corrective actions.
- Administer variations, claims, and extensions of time (EOT).
- Prepare contract close-out documentation and ensure proper handover.
- Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
- Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and project profitability.
- Evaluate and control project costs to avoid overruns.
- Monitor procurement and subcontracts to ensure compliance with budget and timelines.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including value engineering.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Coordinate with the legal and finance teams to address contractual and payment issues.
- Support Senior Managers with commercial insights to meet delivery targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction processes.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, administration, and claims management.
- Proficient in cost management tools and software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Autodesk, Excel).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Expected Minimum Years Of Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial and contract management, focusing on M&E or MEP projects.
