Job Summary: HELP University is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Library Assistant to join our dynamic Library Department.
Ensure all modules in the digital library is functioning well
- Maintain and update web-based content, library web pages and web graphics integrated to the digital library
Respond to and resolve system access issues- Provide support to patrons with reader advisory services in person / over the phone / through email
Assist patrons in locating resources and facilities
- Address complaints and resolve issues raised by patrons
Prepare circulation counter for services in the morning with needed supplies- Open and close the library according to the opening hours
Check in and check out library materials to patrons according to loan procedures
- Collect overdue fines and issue payment receipts
Answer enquiries of non-professional nature and refer persons requiring professional assistance to the Librarian- Participate in University events
Participate in projects undertaken by the Library
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Library
Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Information/Library Science or equivalent field of study.
- 1-2 years of working experience in relevant field.
Some working experience of library systems (such as KOHA) and operation of a library is an advantage. Able to work in group setting and perform shift work.
- Friendly, helpful and patient when dealing with people.
