To join our pre-opening team, we are seeking a passionate Learning & Development Assistant Manager who can combine informality and fun with professionalism and sophistication, leaders with an inclusive spirit who embrace individuality and inject positivity into their work environments.

Your day to day
Every day is different, but youll mostly be:
Analysing training needs of the hotel in general and in individual departments, developing strategies and including them in the Annual Training Plan.
Using IHG benchmarks to monitor success of training programs and amend your efforts accordingly. E.g.: Employee Survey, achievement of budget etc.
Keeping up to date on existing training and other related government grants and ensure timely and accurate submission for grant applications.
Ensuring and conduct effective training programs, including New Employee Orientation, Train the Trainer, Customer Service Training, Technical job specific training (through certification of departmental standards and procedures), Management Development, Selling Skills, Employee retraining.
Designing, producing, and implementing training programmes which meet specific departmental needs in conjunction with Department Heads, ensuring that training session plans are structured, and that training is effective.
Establishing and maintaining a professional working relationship with all institutes of higher learning by being the point of contact for all matters relating to trainees, including recruitment, performance feedback and trainee engagement.
Ensuring that Department Heads abide by their responsibilities of employee training based on the departmental SOPs.
Liaising with other IHG Training Managers within the IHG Malaysian Cluster to share experiences and resources and liaise with educational institutions conducting hospitality and training courses.
Keeping abreast on all training relations updates from IHG Corporate Office and training trends across the industry.
Maintaining all hotel training and assessment records in compliance with the regulations.
Supporting the day-to-day workflow in the HR Department, ad-hoc HR projects and all HR initiatives, ad hoc duties as assigned.
What we need from you
For you to be the ideal candidate, you should have the following:
Bachelors degree in Hotel Management, Education or related field preferred.
At least two years of experience in a training role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Proven experience in developing and delivering training programmes.
Must speak English and Bahasa Malaysia.
