Job Purpose:
The role of the Lead Auditor is to perform audits and provide assurances on the effectiveness of the existing controls, risks and governance of MISCs owned ships & offshore assets to the MISC Board of Assurance Committee (BAC) and internal business units. This job involved travels domestic and internationally. Additional tasks that call for independence and the ability to produce high-quality work with limited guidance and just general oversight by the Principal Auditor may also be allocated to the incumbent.
Key Reponsibilities
Prepare and execute scheduled audits including planning, preparation, execution, reporting and follow-up in accordance with accepted professionalism.
Develop audit scopes, including assigning internal controls and risk areas.
Perform various aspects of execution of risk-based operational audits:
Evaluate the overall efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls and risk areas in compliance with applicable process standards.
Document all information pertaining to audit results including findings, opportunities, and observations.
Follow up with management on remedial action.
Prepare Audit and Executive Summary reports.
Promote value and recommendations including efficiency and cost-savings opportunities.
Demonstrate high standards of conduct and ethics as well as ability to use appropriate judgment and discretion.
Assist with implementing audit tools to improve audit efficiencies.
Ability to create, review and document Internal Audit plan, policies and procedures.
Coordinate and conduct special audits, investigations, and/or ad-hoc projects with minimal supervision and direction.
Deliver departments stretched score card based on assigned personal KPIs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum10 years of related working experience in maritime or oil & gas industry
Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Studies or relevant discipline or Maritime professionalqualifications; Certificate of Competency in Deck or Engine (Class 1)
Good understanding, comprehension, and ability to articulate auditing process and technical reporting.
Fully mobile - International & domestic travel is required on short notice.
Minimum capacity served as Senior Officers onboard for at least 12 months.
Any other experienced may be considered as an advantage e.g. DP experience, Offshore experience, SIRE & OVID inspectors etc.
