Notes: This is a new brand cafe that requires a 1-month training and work closely with Operation Managers to understand the business planning and procedure. The training will be located at a different place from the actual workplace (168 Park Selayang, Batu Caves).
Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food items, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and ensuring that all food is prepared to the cafs high standards. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, cutting, and measuring.
- Prepare the caf menu items according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Ensure portion control and food presentation are consistent with caf standards.
- Kitchen Operations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor food stock levels and notify the outlet supervisor of any shortages.
- Assist in the preparation of catering orders, if applicable.
- Cleanliness and Hygiene
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure all food storage areas are clean and organized.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other kitchen crew members and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth caf operations.
- Communicate effectively with the team to meet customer demands and maintain service quality.
- Assist in training new kitchen crew members, if needed.
- Other Duties
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
- Participate in regular kitchen cleaning schedules.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the outlet supervisor.
- Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
