Java Software Engineer

Job Description

• Understand regulatory & 3rd party technical specifications for the purpose of software design and development.
• Participate in design and requirements meetings, and provide input towards effective and lean software design.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings as software lead.
• Participate in technical meetings, and understand overall technical specifications and development timeline expectations.
• Oversee/perform software installation in Development and QA servers.
• Assign development tasks to Software Engineers, and advise expected deadline for completion.
• Provide guidance and advice to Software Engineers, and ensure development completes within expected timeline.
• Review programs developed by Software Engineers for accuracy, completeness and compliance with coding standards.
• Perform source code scanning, and ensure code gaps are remediated and closed.
• Perform system integration test on program sets (sanity test) and ensure programs perform according to specifications.
• Involve/supervise Software Engineers in project implementation at client sites.
• Assume the role of Software Lead providing software support and advices to clients.
• Keep abreast with latest coding standards and best practices.
• Apply selected/new technologies and standards into program codes, and perform simple POC/sanity test.
• Provide input on staff & peer performance, and recommendation for staff development.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field of study.
• At least 2 years experience in software development.
• Experience in back end Java programming skills, and experience with database design and development.
• Experience in designs, builds & maintains Application Programming Interfaces (API).
• Familiar in any Database system (Oracle/SQL/DB2)
• Familiar in any Operating system. (Windows/Linux/etc)
• Knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Experience in other development language will be an added advantage.
• Good analytical, critical thinking & problem-solving abilities.
• Relevant Working Industry : Banking or FINTECH or relevant industries
