Job Description
As Japanese Translation Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance and the production team meets scheduled goals as well as responsible for all Japanese/English English/Japanese interpretation task in daily basis.
Job Responsibilities
Production works:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors/clients for the flawless execution of projects.
- Work with resource management on resource planning, availability and allocation according to projects pipeline.
- Track and analyze projects performance, expenditures, procurement and report about any possible or current blockers, risks, overflows, deficits.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time and within scope.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Collect management requirements and transform it into projects pipeline.
- Based on provided scope and requirements translate them into tasks, schedule and assign tasks.
- Work with team on project work to keep the project going according to schedule.
- Communicate to the management changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.
- Track and analyze project performance, cost performance, schedule and report to the management on the change project scope, project schedule, and project costs, being able to suggest the improvements to all the above.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Participate in team's performance reviews
- Perform quality assurance.
- Close project and documentation, pass project deliverables to operations.
Translation Works
- To interpret and translate for internal work.
- Translate documentations such as briefs, feedbacks, emails from Japanese/English English/Japanese in a timely manner.
- To respond, liaise and coordinate to client in Japanese/English on day to day basis (by emails, conference and appointments).
- To cooperate with production team on delivering the feedbacks, documented translation correctly.
- Trouble shooting with Japanese clients and production team.
- To perform other duties as and when assigned and necessary.
Requirements
- More than 2 years of Japanese-English translation and interpretation experience
- Candidate must hold at least JLPT N2 level
- Excellent understanding of production methodologies and best practices, with specific experience in linear, design, social, print and digital production
- Exceptional organizational & communication skills
- Able to work well under pressure
- Ability to manage many tasks concurrently
- Accurate, detail and deadline-oriented
- Articulate, flexible, collaborative, and approachable
- Ability to assume accountability
- Prior experience working in animation or gaming is a plus.
