We are looking for a creative individual with digital technology skills to join our current diverse and globally distributed team of engineers that manages and support our Digital Communications solutions.
As a talented individual with a voice and network background, you have a good knowledge of VOIP technology and work in an environment that spans on-premises infrastructure as well as cloud solutions. You will be working with a group of voice and unified communications focused DevOps engineers and architects on maintaining, improving and developing the organization voice infrastructure that provides real time services to our users.
- Global Digital Communications Operations:
Strong focus on supporting and maintaining our Slack environment which includes understanding the software, architecture, authentication mechanisms, add-ons, and integrations while upholding IP integrity within and security posture of the tool.
- Participates in supporting telephony voice network infrastructure regionally and globally to ensure that voice services are reliable, scalable, and available.
Manages and support our cloud-based unified communications platform and engage our vendor for problem resolution and bug fixes.- Troubleshoot complex telephony and voice network issues and work across organizations with Global Network Operations for data network (LAN, WAN, DNS, etc.) and firewall-related issues.
Proactively pinpoint and eliminate audio and video performance bottlenecks impacting business workloads.
- Maintain optimal functionality and availability levels for all voice infrastructure, such as voice gateways and voice circuits. Steadily improve service uptime and quality.
Monitor system alerts proactively and P1-P3 incident response tickets to ensure customer problems are attended to promptly.- Engage Subject Matter Experts or vendors for escalations.
Co-ordinate and assist in the creation and upkeep of documentation, procedures, guidelines and schematic drawings.
- Complete Voice service-related user requests requiring system administrator access within SLA
Continuous improvements - lead and participate in Problem Management, Post-mortems, root cause analysis and accelerate/advance the resolution of incidents impacting the Critical Production Environment & prolonged escalations- Projects and Technology Participate and contribute to exciting global projects such as site buildouts, new acquisitions, new technology deployment, technology refreshes, etc.
We're looking for a diversely skilled, experienced network engineer with these qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
2 4 years of hands-on voice and data network experience (Cisco CCNA Certification preferred, but not a must)- This is a 100% onsite role in Penang, some outside AP hours meetings and collaboration may be required due to the team being global and distributed across Penang, India, UK and Americas.
Required skills and knowledge:
- Good knowledge and experience with VoIP software and related protocols such as SIP, SDP, RTP, Q.931
Good understanding of IP/DNS, Security, QoS- Experience with administering Microsoft Teams environment or have awareness and knowledge of Microsoft Teams
Experience in managing Slack workspaces in an Enterprise SaaS-based environment
- Expertise in Slack functionality, features, administration tools, and API capabilities
- Optional skills and knowledge
Knowledge of Session Border Control (SBC) infrastructure
High attention to detail and skilled at problem analysis and troubleshooting.
- Ability to meet deadlines and do well under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication skills- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
