Job Summary
- The Registered Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager. He/ She is responsible for the delivery of patient care management and treatment of patient under her care, supervise and guide subordinates.
- She has the responsibilities of participating in Doctor's rounds by giving relevant information pertaining to nursing observations, laboratory findings and progress of the patient. He/ She carries out duties assigned by the superiors.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide orientation to patient/next of kin upon admission / transfer in and ensure patient's family is informed and understand the component of Patient's Charter upon transfer in / admission
- Reassure and provide psychological support to patient and next of kin during patient's stay in ICU/ HDU
- To be responsible and ensure the initial nursing assessment of patient is carried out within 24 hours of admission for direct patient admission to ICU/ HDU.
- To be responsible in administering and documenting medication given to patient as prescribed by the Doctor.
- To perform clinical nursing procedures according to individual competency assessment and as per credential and privileging approval.
- To initiate resuscitation before the arrival of the Doctor during Code Blue.
- To detect abnormal lab investigation results and notify the attending Doctor.
- To be responsible and ensure accurate charging is carried out at every shift in HIS and charge sheet.
- Ensure Last Office is carried out properly in accordance to patient's religious beliefs and customs.
Requirements
- Proven experience and certification as a registered nurse.
- Valid nursing LJM & APC.
- Minimum 3 years experience.
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods, procedures & emergency care.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all time.
- Able to work on SHIFT is a MUST.
