Job Title: IBM AS400 Systems and Hardware Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled IBM AS400 Systems and Hardware Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our AS400 systems and hardware infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of our AS400 environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and implement AS400 systems and associated hardware.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to AS400 operations.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and backups to ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with software developers to optimize applications for AS400 systems.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including procedures and configurations.
- Implement and manage security protocols to protect data and system integrity.
- Analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements related to AS400 technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IBM AS400 system administration and hardware management.
- Strong knowledge of IBM iSeries architecture and related software.
- Experience with AS400 programming languages (RPG, COBOL, SQL).
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions for AS400 environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IBM certifications related to AS400/iSeries.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud integration.
- Knowledge of security best practices for AS400 systems.
