Job Responsibility
The Human Resources responsibilities include, but are not limited to below:
- Administering payroll and maintaining employee records
- Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
- Recordkeeping for employee benefits and compensation
- Ensuring day to day efficient operation of the HR office
- Applying work permit for foreign staff
- Overall responsibility of recruitment requirements of manpower for staff of all levels except Senior Management Team (SMT) positions: recruiting staff, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates;
- Coordinate communication and obtaining necessary supporting documents from the respective candidates and schedule interviews;
- Conducts the initial screening of the applicants with HR Manager or any other SMT members;
- Facilitates the psychological test of the applicants as and when the position is necessary;
- Conducts background investigation report before hiring of the employee;
- Working closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting SMT in understanding and implementing policies and procedures;
- Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation;
- Liaising with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety;
- Assist in developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management;
- To assist in Preparing staff handbooks;
- Advising SMT on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
- To assist SMT in undertaking regular salary reviews;
- To assist SMT in negotiating with staff on issues relating to pay and conditions;
- Interpreting and advising on employment law (must familiarize yourself with the Malaysia Employment Act 1955 and Industrial Relations Act 1967);
- To assist in dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures together with SMT;
- To assist in planning and sometimes delivering training - including inductions for new staff;
- Keeping track of the records of all staff contact numbers valid and be included in the EHM Staff Whatsapp Group;
- Organising staff get togethers for every festive period, school break and or weekends to improve the relationships of staff;
- Arrange birthday cake for staff with school chef and celebrate staffs birthday on the last working day of the month on a monthly basis;
- Arrange gifts/tokens and or cards for special occasions among staff and SMT in acknowledging happy occasions like weddings, new birth, achieve further certification of qualification and so forth; or extending condolences or word of empathy to staff for sad occasions like passing of a staffs direct family member; tragedy or accidents that a staff has encountered
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
