Position Summary:The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring that the hotels physical assets are maintained in excellent condition. This role involves supervising the maintenance team, performing inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Supervision and Leadership:- Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team, including scheduling and assigning tasks.
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.- Conduct performance evaluations and implement staff development programs.
Maintenance Operations:- Oversee routine and preventive maintenance of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Ensure the timely repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work and ensure work is completed to standards.
Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and manage purchasing as needed.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including fire safety and emergency procedures.- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Maintain records of maintenance work and inspections for regulatory compliance.
Assist in the development and management of the maintenance department budget.- Monitor and control maintenance costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to improve operational efficiency.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in a manner that minimizes disruption to guests.
Collaborate with other hotel departments to resolve maintenance-related issues.
Proven experience in a maintenance supervisory role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various conditions, including outdoor and indoor environments.
