Job Description
- Provide guidance on measures to ensure the safety and health of employees at the workplace.
- Conduct thorough inspections of the workplace to assess potential risks posed by machinery, equipment, substances, processes, or manual labor, with a focus on preventing injuries.
- Investigate any incidents such as accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisonings, or diseases that occur within the workplace.
- Support the Chairman of the safety and health committee in organizing and executing occupational safety and health programs.
- Serve as the secretary to the safety and health committee if required, fulfilling all duties outlined in the regulations.
- Assist the safety and health committee in conducting inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of safety measures in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Gather, analyze, and maintain data on workplace accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisonings, and diseases.
- Collaborate with relevant personnel to address safety and health concerns and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and Conflict Mineral activities.
- Implement and oversee an efficient security system within the company.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness standards within the company premises.
- Develop, review, and update safety and health procedures (S-P / S-I).
- Undertake any additional assignments as required by the business.
The Successful Applicant
- Hold a degree/diploma in occupational safety and health or equivalent, from a professional body or institution approved by the Minister.
- Successfully complete an accredited occupational safety and health training program and pass any associated examinations.
- Possess a minimum of three years of experience in occupational safety and health.
- Demonstrate strong English language communication skills.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines.
- Green Book Holder is a must
