Position Overview
The Head of Pricing, will be primarily responsible for pricing for selected markets, with contribution to treaty drafting and basis development. However, given the variability in quote activity between the various markets, they might also be required to support the pricing for other countries within Southeast Asia. The person in this role will work very closely with Business Development, R&D, Underwriting, Product Development, Regional Pricing and senior management.
Responsibilities
Contribute ideas and solutions that enhance business strategy and the attainment of RGAs business plans. Proactively make recommendations on areas of product design or pricing leveraging on knowledge of risk and capital, that enhances the sustainability of the business units profitability.
Work closely with the regional teams, and together with the Chief Actuary, represent SEA to ensure proper governance and update them on local challenges and issues.
Spearhead solutions for cedants together with Business Development. Provide pricing and commercial insights to create long term value for cedants and RGA. Regular communication is required with Business Development to make sure that client needs (product, pricing, capital, other metrics) are satisfied.
Supervise and perform activities to ensure timely and technically sound completion of pricing quotations. Responsible for subordinate teams performance in this regard.
Ensure compliance with Corporate and International Pricing Standards.
Allocation of work to sub-ordinate pricing actuaries and management, mentoring, coaching and development of them.
Participate in the development of strategy for the Pricing and Product Development team.
Build working relationships with counterparts in our client companies.
Requirements
Accreditation as a fellow in a globally recognized actuarial association (e.g. U.S., Canada, Australia, UK or equivalent)
10 - 15 years of actuarial working experience, Pricing experience with Reinsurer is strongly preferred
Ability to travel internationally for durations of 2-3 days, 4 times per year
Asian language skills desirable
Knowledge of Asian life insurance markets and product lines highly regarded
Solid understanding of various Individual life insurance products
Strong client service focus

Highly organized, delivery-orientated with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects
