Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Functional
Research and Development
- Set the strategic direction and create the overarching propositions strategy for HLISB across relevant products and services to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
- Drive new strategic propositions and IA product delivery in accordance to regulatory standards and market dynamics taking into account political, economic and commercial issues impacting the industry.
- Use insight to acquire deep understanding of the needs and wants of customers and develop motivating headline propositions to demonstrate how HLISB can make life better for the customers.
- Solicit, originate and recommend best investments and/ or venture activities including strategic collaboration and partnership initiatives.
- Incorporate value based and social impact ecosystem into proposition activities including cross-sell potentials.
- Model relevant financial & non-financial cost benefit analysis including P&L forecasting, stress-testing, risk analysis, trending & behavioral analysis.
- Appraise market outlook and recommend best pricing strategy.
Business Executions
- Lead end-to-end proposition designs of performant, experience, robust and maintainable technical architectures across disparate technologies.
- Lead all aspects of the business case creation for each new proposition and gain buy-in from the appropriate forums for approval, funding and change resource.
- Explore, evaluate and recommend digital investment solutions built around customer experience using digital technologies.
- Own the proposition development pipeline including the application of prioritization principles and alignment to the proposition delivery roadmap.
- Identify specific target market and propose out of box digital marketing activities.
- Carry budgeted P&L including cost managements.
Operations Management
- Provide Proposition expertise and leadership on key strategic business projects and actively be the voice of the customer within these.
- Take lead in matters with regards to the management of resources, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximize business performance.
- Observe internal and regulatory compliances including customer complaints and feedbacks.
- Ensure timely updating of relevant performance roadmap including periodic Investment Account reporting matters.
- Organize and conduct periodic internal stakeholders training including public awareness programs.
Monitoring and Review
- Lead the team to maintain and manage the in-life portfolio of propositions to ensure the intended value is being driven.
- Lead periodic performance review and recommend tactical enhancements.
- Recommend functionality enhancements based on customer insights.
- Review and recalibrate process implementations based on market dynamics.
Managerial
- Continuously guide and motivate team members in overall Proposition and IA product management.
- Ensure adequate training and knowledge transfers across relevant stakeholders are performed.
- Thorough in assessing problems resolutions and able to make difficult decisions.
- Plan and execute staffing succession planning and retention.
- A self-starter, independent, self-organized and able to work under tight deadlines.
Organizational
- Drive HLISB proposition strategy and implementation for short to long term horizon.
- Build synergy with relevant business units as means for cross-selling and proposition integration.
- Excellent organizational and co-ordination skills, intellectually curious.
- Possess dynamic and positive working attitude towards multi-tasking and proactively seeks out opportunities to advance and implement improvements.
Jobholder Requirements
Education/Qualification
- Minimum degree holder either in finance, investment, accounting, banking or other related specialization. A post graduate tertiary or a professional certification is a plus.
Experience
- At least 10 years experience in financial industry with Proven track record of leading on proposition strategic development preferably within Financial Service
- Prior exposure in building financial services ecosystem is an added advantage.
- Experience in Islamic Finance is not mandatory but a plus.

- Business expertise with regard to market knowledge on the political, economic, commercial issues that may impact the industry.
- Creative, independent, resourceful and a confidence speaker with flair to orchestrate effective ecosystem journey.
- Strong commercial background and experience of building investment cases that drive optimum business and customer outcomes.
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to manage diverse background team members.
- Good proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Strong passion and market knowledge of fintech industry is a plus.
