Formulate strategies for the growth of the Centre for Pre-University Studies. To be accountable for the overall management, budget and profitability of the Centre. To develop strategies for student recruitment, retention and achievement.
To be responsible for quality assurance and maintain academic standards of all programmes within the Centre.
To plan programme structures, academic calendars and academic manpower development for the faculty and to ensure these are achieved.
To ensure existing programmes are current with regular curriculum review.
To manage and coordinate teaching, tutorials, counseling schedules and examination timetables.
To undertake teaching duties as when necessary.
To monitor closely the attrition and graduation on time of students, and take necessary remedial actions to prevent it.
To evaluate academic staff in the performance of their teaching duties and provide guidance in the improvement of their responsibilities.
To receive and review students feedback on the services provided and to take corrective action where necessary.
Requirements:
Possess Master's Degree/ PhD in relevant areas with at least 10 years working experience in academia of which at least 3 years holding an academic leadership position.
Demonstrated high level academic and/or professional leadership experience.
Highly developed interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving and administrative skills.
Ability to define problems and provide valid conclusions to solve problems and plan initiatives.
Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with others in a team environment consisting of academic and admin support staff.
Experience in student management.
Ability to manage a number of competing demands.
