Responsibilities
- Accounting Functions:
- Review Management Accounts: Ensure management accounts are prepared accurately for audit and tax estimation.
- Compliance and Filing: Ensure all accounts are complete and filed on time for audit, tax, and SSM compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure financial statements meet all regulatory and compliance standards.
- Annual Budget: Check and review the Annual Budget for all active companies.
- Operational Monitoring: Monitor the FFB productivity and operational costs of the estates.
- Staff Supervision: Guide and supervise accounts staff in all accounting aspects.
- Purchase Verification: Check and verify purchase requisitions, payment vouchers, and cheque issues.
- Auditor and Tax Agent Liaison: Liaise with auditors and tax agents on queries, new regulations, and compliance standards.
- System Implementation: Implement ECSWeb Accounting System.
- Financial Functions:
- Payment Review: Check and review all payments against their supporting documents.
- Documentation: Verify documents, cash flow projections, and sublease reports as required by bankers.
- Information Provision: Provide financial and operational information as requested by bankers.
- Banking Relations: Maintain good rapport with bankers and liaise with bankers and solicitors on bank borrowings.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Projection Preparation: Prepare group cash flow projections and highlight borrowing commitments to management.
- Compliance Reporting: Ensure all compliance reports, schedules, documents, and additional information required by financiers and Sukuk trustees are provided as needed.
- Contract and Agreement Review:
- Documentation Verification: Check and review agreements, contracts, purchase requests, purchase orders, costing, and pricing before executive director/managing director approval.
- Audit Contracts: Conduct audits on contract works such as mechanical weeding, drain desilting, bridges, roads, and estate maintenance.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Presentation Preparation: Prepare presentation papers, reports, analysis, and schedules as requested by management.
- Ad-Hoc Assignments:
- Additional Duties: Perform any other ad-hoc assignments as required.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Degree in Accounting or professional qualifications and MIA member.
- Experience: Minimum 10 - 15 years experience in a managerial position, preferably in the plantation field.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant authority guidelines (e.g., Securities Commission, Bursa Malaysia) and legal frameworks regarding fundraising.
- Proficiency: Thorough understanding of accounting standards, Companies Act 2016, and Income Tax Act.
- Skills:
- Analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, able to work independently and under pressure.
- Commitment to timely delivery.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
