About the Role:


The role of General Trade Manager is responsible for reaching sales targets of the customers assigned, developing the business of general trade, analyzing their performance, and ensuring distribution in general trade.

Main Responsibilities:


Lead and develop the general trade (GT) planning to implement the strategic goals set for the business growth

Propose commercial policy, programs and customer plans for GT, manage sales forecast, budget and objectives

Propose to the Country Sales Manager a sales budget (volumes, trade spending, visibility etc.) for GT by key partners

Monitors sales targets achievement regularly and have contingency plans in place

Manage custoimer plans, analyze key partners performance and define future business opportunities

Define key partner-specific goals and strategy and action plan with specific KPIs

Review proposals on general trade and conform compliance with commercial policy, take actions on issues with credits

Provide regular communication with key partners and schedule monthly back-check

Monitor financial aging report and ensure it is aligned in accordance to distributors protocol

Manage negotiation activities, define and work with distributor to negotiate contracts with all key partners, achieve the strategic goals/projects

Negotiate with key-partners for the session/annual sales promotion/trade incentive according to sales plan

Manage trade spending & control, keep trade spending within the guidelines established by the Ferrero commercial policy

Monitor execution and sales target, timely submit sales activities documents (TSA) to Country Sales Manager

Timely submit payment approval from accrual to distributor to facilitate payment to key partners

Analyze trade spending to optimize ROI

Work closely with distributor, develop action plans to achieve sales target with co-efforts

Personally follow up and ensure communication cascaded by sales team to key partners

Monitor the actual in-store deployment at national level, follow up and coordinate with sales teams to ensure local execution is align with define plans and policies

Evaluate and propose new plan/strategies from the input of distributor

Monitor sales, inventory KPIs of the key partners, resolve problems with distributors team on a national level when required

Validate the data/ information provided by distributor to ensure accuracy for decision making

Who we are looking for:


University degree in relevant field

Relevant experience in similar roles with strong proven track record of effective partnership with distributor and key wholesalers

Strong market knowledge and familiarity with GT & ISM retail landscape, operations and dynamics

Willingness to travel across the regions in West and East Malaysia for meetings with Distributor Sales team, Key Wholesalers and store visits

Experience in SPF (Sweet Packaged Food: Confectionery, Biscuit, Ice-cream etc) category is considered a plus

Strong focus on execution to drive sell-out through product availability and visibility

Ability to deliver strong results individually and as a good team player, with a strong sense of mutuality, empathy and collaboration

Proactivity, dynamism, strong sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, result-orientation

Fluency in English, written and spoken; Bahasa/Mandarin/Cantonese is preferred

Advanced MS Office tools knowledge
