Job Description

Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the foreign worker hostel/dormitory, including housekeeping, maintenance, and setting SOP for Foreign workers hostel management operations.
  • Ensure that the hostel is clean, safe, and well-maintained meeting all health and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures tailored to the needs of foreign workers.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage hostel managers and executives, fostering a culture of respect, professionalism and service excellence.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Manage staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation of all hostel functions.
  • Ensure all staff are aware of and comply with health and safety standards and hostel-specific protocols.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize revenue.
  • Analyze financial reports and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement cost control measures without compromising guest experience or safety.
  • Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Marketing and Sales:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract and increase occupancy rates.
  • Manage online presence, including social media and review platforms, to enhance the hostel's reputation.
  • Build relationships with local businesses or corporations to promote the hostel.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor performance to identify opportunities for growth.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure the hostel complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety, employment, and environmental laws.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records related to compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all licensing, permits and certifications are up to date and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in dormitory or hostel management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in managing accommodation facilities specifically for foreign workers is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and accommodation regulations related to foreign workers.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
