Role Title: Full Stack developer

• Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain the various components of retail systems.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.

Identify areas of opportunity towards building highly scalable and maintainable solutions.

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools that can improve the development process or product quality.

Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for the design, development, and deployment of applications including data model, data flow, features, and integration mechanisms.

• Support the execution of all build phases of domain projects, including testing and training for data flows and interfaces.

Work closely with IT technical and support teams to manage overall operational stability of the retail applications and technology that supports the ELC retail sales channels and driving continued focus on operational excellence and cost optimization.

• Collaborate with technology leads, business analysts, and various stakeholders to deliver excellence on the project execution and influencing the decision making.

Lead and mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow their skills and advance in their careers.

• Drive innovation within the team by staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies and integrating them into the development process where applicable.

Drive the maintain phase incl. L3 support activities to ensure that the application is delivering value for various stakeholders.

• Qualifications - External

• Technical Skills

Java Technology Specialist incl. Java/J2EE/Spring Boot with expertise in AngularJS, MSSQL, SSIS

• Good working knowledge of document, relational, and time-series databases (e.g. Mongo, MySQL, SQL Server, Influx).

Experience with SOA incl. SOAP and/or REST based services.

• Experience with pub/sub and/or consumer/producer techniques like Kafka.

Experience with systems integration and/or database to applications using middleware such as SnapLogic, Informatica, WebMethods.

• Working knowledge of software development and automation tools and methodologies (Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Chef, Python, etc.).

Experience working in containerized cloud-native projects like Kubernetes or Docker.

• Experience architecting/operating solutions build on Microsoft Azure (Blob Storage, SQL managed services, AKS, etc).

Experience in XML schema definition and integration documentation.

• Experience with on-premises to cloud migrations or IT transformations.

Experience working in agile teams.

• Basic knowledge of ITIL best practices within the Systems Development Lifecycle, Release Management.

Basic application knowledge of SAP, SAP BO, SSRS, Retail Pro.

• Experience in modern frameworks and languages like Angular, VueJS, NodeJS, GoLang, Python & Rust would be an added advantage.

Noteworthy experience in retail systems and/or integration with a solid understanding of business operations and key processes.

• Experience in a multi-channel and/or omni channel environment.

Experience with cloud-based integrations.

• Understanding of the latest technological advancements within relevant business processes

Ability to think strategically and creatively, and communicate effectively in a fast-moving, rapidly growing environment.

• Solid understanding of IT group operating model, including enterprise architecture, development lifecycle, tools, agile methodology, methods, and processes

Able to demonstrate an innovative approach to improving timeliness, quality, and efficiency of systems development projects/portfolios with a partnership with the quality engineering teams.

• Excellent skills in developing detailed technical documentation, studies, and specifications.

Experience designing onshore/offshore frameworks and managing offshore development and testing suppliers.

• Demonstrates creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets.

Strong team-player who has excellent collaboration and relationship skills and written and oral communication skills.
