Role Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable Curriculum Integration Specialist (Freelance) to align Walnut Education's coding curriculum (Python and C++) with the IGCSE Computer Science curriculum. This project-based freelance role involves creating a curriculum alignment plan that bridges Walnut Education's content with IGCSE standards, ensuring students acquire the necessary computer science skills to succeed within the IGCSE framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Analysis: Examine the IGCSE Computer Science syllabus alongside Walnut Education's Python and C++ curriculum to identify and document areas of alignment and areas needing adjustment.
- Mapping & Alignment: Develop a detailed curriculum mapping document that aligns Walnut Education's Python and C++ lessons with IGCSE topics, learning objectives, and required competencies.
- Content Recommendations: Propose adjustments or additions to ensure that Walnut Education's curriculum fully supports IGCSE standards and offers a comprehensive learning experience.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create a comprehensive report detailing curriculum alignment and recommendations, ensuring clarity and thorough documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Walnut Education's educational team to ensure the proposed curriculum meets both IGCSE objectives and Walnut Education's instructional approach.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Curriculum Design, or a related field. Experience with the IGCSE Computer Science curriculum or similar international standards is preferred.
- Experience: Proven background in curriculum mapping and alignment, specifically with Python and C++. Familiarity with IGCSE standards is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze curriculum frameworks and create structured alignment plans.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent documentation skills and a keen eye for detail in curriculum development.
