Job Scope : Prepare and process shipping documentation such as bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.Coordination and Communication:
Liaise with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to arrange the transportation of goods.
- Communicate with clients to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any issues or delays.
Customs Clearance:
- Coordinate with customs authorities to ensure goods are cleared through customs efficiently.
Prepare necessary documentation for customs clearance, including tariff classification and duty payment.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking information, delivery schedules, and cost details.Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve any issues related to shipments, such as delays, damages, or lost goods.
- Work with carriers and insurance companies to file claims for lost or damaged goods.
Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on shipment status, costs, and performance metrics for management review.
require at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Some employers may prefer candidates with a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field- Understanding of local and international customs regulations.
