Job Description

Job Purpose

Responsible in making sure that the food service operation complies with all statutory requirements, including food hygiene, health and safety duties. He/ she will organize and service all activities within operation with regards to food services and equipment arrangements, as well as collecting orders for perishable items and monitoring the food services staffs personal hygiene.

Supervise and verify food orders and therapeutic diets served at the tray line are correct and documentation of the activities.
  • Check the tray line timing and ensure the food trolleys are delivered on time.
Work together with Food Service Executive in ordering consumable and non-consumable items to ensure that maximum stock levels are maintained.
  • Control and ensure that the preparation of beverages and presentation of food items prepared by Assistant Supervisor are according to correct measures as per request.
Monitor food wastage from the wards.
  • Attend to customer/patient questions, complaints and concerns promptly and resolve any issue amicably to enhance customer/patient satisfaction.
Co-ordinate with engineering/vendor in the event of kitchen equipment breakdown.
  • Prepare and coordinate staff duty roster to maximize the efficiency of workforce and ensure timely delivery and smooth operation of food services.
  • 2. Quality and performance improvement
Involve in internal training and supervision of food service staffs and ensure staffs perform their duties correctly.
  • Assist Food Service Executive in the monitoring of parameter needed in quality assurance programme. This includes compiling and analysis of reports such as meal serving time, temperature, CARDEX, crockery breakages, and total meals served to the patient.
Other duties as assigned by Head of Department.
  • Qualification
Possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma in Food & Beverage Service Management or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of worling experience in the Food and Beverage in the related capacity.
Possess leadership qualities, organized and self-motivated
  • Good interpersonal skills. Able to interact well with both internal and external customers
