Job Summary
The Financial Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial health of the company. This position involves overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the property development sector and possess exceptional analytical and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and update budgets and financial forecasts to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including tax filings, audits, and internal controls.
- Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
- Systems Improvement: Evaluate and improve financial systems and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the property development or real estate sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and property development financial practices.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
