Job Responsibility
Job Summary:
The Finance Controller (Credit Control) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the credit control function within the finance department. This role involves managing the company's credit policies, ensuring timely collections, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining healthy cash flow.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures to ensure timely collections and minimize credit risk.
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and take appropriate action to recover outstanding debts.
- Conduct credit checks on new and existing customers to assess creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve payment disputes and issues promptly.
- Prepare and analyze aging reports and other credit control metrics to provide insights into the company's credit status.
- Manage and review the performance of the credit control team, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Negotiate payment plans with customers and manage the escalation process for delinquent accounts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to credit management and collections.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of the company's accounts receivable and credit control performance.
- Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate cash flow projections.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in credit control or financial controlling, ideally in the manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
- Strong understanding of credit management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
