Job Description

Being the finance manager, he or she oversees the financial management, reporting activities of the company and ensure internal controls and compliance of local regulations, statutory & tax requirements

Responsibilities

  • Development & capability building of finance team
  • Develop and maintain accounting systems, prepare complex financial documents, and handle difficult or sensitive financial matters
  • Direct accounting policies, procedures and internal controls. Lead the Finance team to ensure all financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet business objectives and are in accordance with local, corporate accounting policies, principles, and standards. Ensure the team is equipped with the skills and tools to meet their key deliverables and are motivated to deliver advice and support to the highest professional standard
  • Preparation and delivery of timely monthly financial accounting packs
  • Manage GL functions and monthly/quarterly and year end closing
  • Handle quarterly submission of GST, annual tax submission and compliance matters, liaising with the company secretary, submission of government statistics matter etc
  • Prepare of statutory financial statement
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and other external stakeholders when necessary
  • Work with but not limited to Commercial team on AR outstanding, work with FP&A/Supply Chain manager to provide historical data for budget preparation and other internal stakeholders when necessary.
  • Ensure financial and statutory reports are in compliance with local and HOYA group reporting requirements
  • Identify and implement business processes to improve internal financial controls
  • Support any other ad-hoc duties/projects as required

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting / Economics / Finance / Business, Chartered Accountant designation or equivalent
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant statutory reporting experience.
  3. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
  4. Proficient in the use of MS Office, financial management software (e.g. SAP, Dynamics 365) and BI reporting tools (e.g. Cognos, BO, Qlikview, Hyperion and etc).
  5. Must be self-directed with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities and thrive under pressure.
  6. Ability to plan and manage own workload to meet deadlines. The level of detail to be commensurate with the need for the work and resources available.
  7. Able to work under pressures and to strict deadlines.
  8. Solid command of English and local languages.
