Job Summary:
We are looking for a diligent and motivated Finance Intern to support our finance team during the crucial year-end closing period. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial closing procedures, including reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting. The Finance Intern will assist in ensuring that all financial records are accurate and complete for the fiscal year-end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling accounts, including bank statements, ledgers, and subsidiary accounts, to ensure all financial records are accurate.
- Audit Preparation: Support the preparation of documents and schedules required for internal and external audits.
- Journal Entries: Help in preparing and entering adjusting journal entries related to year-end closing.
- Data Verification: Review and verify the accuracy of financial data, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Accruals and Provisions: Assist in calculating and recording accruals, provisions, and other year-end adjustments.
- Fixed Assets Management: Support the review and reconciliation of fixed assets, ensuring accurate recording of depreciation and asset disposals.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation: Organize and maintain financial records and documentation related to the year-end closing process.
- Ad Hoc Support: Provide additional support on various year-end tasks and projects as needed by the finance team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with accounting software.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and year-end closing processes.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience: Previous experience or coursework in accounting, finance, or audit support is beneficial but not required.
