Job Summary:
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping operations within the hotel, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and guest service. This role involves managing the housekeeping team, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining inventory and budgetary controls to provide a comfortable and inviting environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping staff, including housekeepers, laundry attendants, and public area cleaners.
- Schedule shifts and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and performance.
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure they meet the hotel's cleanliness and maintenance standards.- Address and rectify any deficiencies or issues promptly.
Implement and enforce quality control procedures and standards.
Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
- Order supplies and equipment as needed, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and adequate stock levels.
Manage laundry operations to ensure timely and efficient processing of linens and uniforms.
- Budgeting and Cost Control:
Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget, monitoring expenses to stay within financial guidelines.- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Respond to guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.- Ensure that guest rooms are prepared according to special requests and preferences.
Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction through proactive service and attention to detail.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Conduct regular safety training and drills for housekeeping staff.
Maintain records of safety inspections and incident reports.Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate with the front office, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient room turnover.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other department heads to address operational needs and guest concerns.
Conduct performance evaluations for housekeeping staff and provide feedback and coaching to improve performance.
- Handle disciplinary actions and resolve personnel issues in a fair and consistent manner.
Recognize and reward outstanding performance and contributions.
Oversee special projects such as deep cleaning, room refurbishments, and seasonal decorations.- Plan and execute periodic cleaning schedules for carpets, drapes, and upholstery.
Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper or in a similar leadership role in the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and guest satisfaction.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using housekeeping management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in housekeeping.
